Creators of Future
Today, I am very excited to announce Creators of Future, an initiative to help more people become generalists.
Why become a generalist?
The world is changing rapidly, and the future is uncertain. Generalists have more tools in their arsenal to navigate this uncertainty.
I started my career in 2010 as a frontend engineer, but I switched to design a few years later. The switch helped me understand the balance between design and engineering, and discover new possibilities. Though I currently specialize in design, I never stopped learning to code.
The most interesting thing about becoming a generalist is that you start seeing the world from a different lens. Your appetite for learning grows exponentially. You can pick up any skill you put your heart into. As soon as you add the second tool to your arsenal, the possibilities of what you can do increases ten-folds.
What's Creators of Future?
Creators of Future is my mission to help more people become generalists. I believe being a designer with development skills or vice-versa is underrated. The ability to create usable and delightful stuff out of nothing is magical. It's a super-power. Add marketing and sales, and you're unstoppable.
Batch 1 - iOS Apps
In the past six years, I've created several iOS apps. Some I’ve published in the App Store, and some I haven’t. They have also been featured in the App Store several times.
Now, with tools like SwiftUI and Figma, the friction in creating quality iOS apps has vastly been reduced. So, I've decided to dedicate the first batch of this program to mentoring people who are interested in creating iOS apps.
It is for people who: want to build iOS apps; already have an idea; are either a designer or a developer. The mentorship will involve one-on-one guidance on UI/UX or SwiftUI, depending on your existing skillset.
If you belong to the above cohort, reach out via the form. I'll select up to 5 applications, beginning April 1st, 2021, who will also be the first members of the Creators of Future Tribe. I'll help you in the journey of publishing your app to the App Store from start to finish. (If you already have an app published and are looking to improve your design skills, feel free to apply as well).
